Studio Atelier at Cannes 2025
This year, Studio Atelier steps onto the world stage at the 77th Cannes Film Festival.
In partnership with Lockwood Pictures and Rosedust Studios honoring a lineage of style shaped by legacy, language, and lived experience.
This year, Studio Atelier joins the 77th Cannes Film Festival with a series of curated moments that honor our ethos of story-driven design. From dressing our muses for red carpet premieres, to an intimate dinner celebrating Black cinematic legacy, to new creative collaborations in film and sound—our presence reflects both reverence and reinvention.
Studio Atelier was honored to take part in this year’s Cannes Film Festival as both creative partner and cultural participant. Our presence extended across fashion, film, and conversation—bridging disciplines in celebration of Black storytelling and design excellence.
This year, our involvement included:
• Dressing talent and collaborators for key red carpet moments, including the premieres of Franklin Street and The Lot and other major festival entries.
• Hosting An Evening in Legacy, a private dinner in partnership with Lockwood Pictures and Rosedust Studios, celebrating the past, present, and future of Black cinema
• Hosting an intimate private dinner in partnership with artist Recéa Marin bringing together a circle of close friends, collaborators, and creatives.
• Curating a pop-up dressing salon, The Sitting Room, an intimate familiar space for people to gather and interact with the brand.
Our presence at Cannes is anchored in collaboration. Honoring our belief that fashion is not just seen, it’s felt, remembered, and written into cultural archives.

our involvement and events
Beyond the red carpet, Studio Atelier hosted and participated in a series of intimate moments across Cannes. These gatherings centered conversation, collaboration, and creative exchange.
Studio Atelier x Recéa Marin creatives Dinner
A private dinner presented by Studio Atelier & Recéa Marin
On the second night of the festival, Studio Atelier and Recéa Marin co-hosted an intimate artist dinner in Cannes, gathering a close circle of friends, collaborators, and creatives. Set in a quiet glass canopy covered courtyard behind a local gallery, the evening was designed to feel less like an event and more like a reprieve.
Recéa previewed an unreleased track from her score for The Lot, and guests were invited to write short letters to their past or future selves, later sealed in Studio Atelier archival envelopes as keepsakes. The table was set with wild florals, mismatched glassware, and handwritten menus—each a nod to Recéa’s belief in memory as performance.
No photographers. No formal press. Just shared food, soft music, and the kind of conversation that lingers long after the plates are cleared.
An Evening in Legacy
A private dinner presented by Studio Atelier, Lockwood Pictures, and Rosedust Studios
Held during the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, An Evening in Legacy brought together a cross-generational circle of filmmakers, performers, and cultural architects to honor the lineage of Black cinema.
Set in a private villa overlooking the Riviera, the evening blended intimate storytelling with refined design with custom tablescapes, archival visuals, and thoughtful toasts echoing decades of creative resilience.
our sponsors
Studio Atelier’s presence at Cannes was made possible in partnership with brands who share our values of craft, vision, and creative integrity. With support from Lockwood Pictures and Rosewood Studios, we were able to bring our world to the Riviera, both thoughtfully, and on our own terms.
Rosedust
studios
Known for its curatorial approach and generational storytelling, Rosewood Studios joined us in Cannes through their premiere of Franklin Street—a project that, created in tandem with Lockwood Pictures’ The Lot. Their support allowed us to host intentional moments offscreen, from private dinners to creative gatherings that reflected both of our worlds.
Lockwood
pictures
A legacy film studio with a history of shaping cinematic culture, Lockwood Pictures was a key partner in our Cannes presence. With their film The Lot premiering during the festival, our collaboration extended from the screen to the steps—supporting custom looks, events, and moments that bridged red carpet and narrative craft.
Lockwood’s partnership reflects our shared belief in timeless storytelling and visual precision.
the studio log
This is where we track the work. Behind the fittings, the travel, and the press runs. It’s part archive, part diary, and part production tool. From Milan to Cannes, we’re documenting the days as they happen—who came through, what got finished, what shifted.

The milan studio
for cannes
For the 77th Cannes International Film Festival we created and shot our client’s garments in our Atelier and Studio in Milan.
A Silk full length dress featuring a deep cut-outs on the side of the dress and silk bindings. The dress is held be two spaghetti straps at the neck, and an additional strap around the back.
villa spaccata
our cannes villa
For the 77th Cannes International Film Festival out team stayed in updated Mediterranean Villa situated in the hills of Super Cannes.
Our base in Cannes, set just above the city in the hills. The villa is both workspace and retreat.
Split between a smaller ivy-covered house and a larger guest house for the team, the space gives us room to reset, prep, and stay present during the busiest week of the season. Most of the work is already done by the time we arrive, so what happens here is about refinement, rhythm, and relaxation.
Altair Estates
Our Cannes villa was placed through Altair Estates, a boutique firm specializing in high-touch property placement for creative professionals. Their team understood the nuance of what we needed, a space that could hold fittings, rest, and creative conversation without pulling us out of rhythm.
It felt like a retreat, not a set.
