villa spacata: the cannes villa

Location:

cannes, france

Set in the hills just above Cannes in the hills of Super Cannes, the Studio Atelier villa serves as a base for both work and pleasure. The team arrives with most of the major fittings and garment construction behind them—so the energy here is slower, softer, and more social. The space is built for comfort, conversation, and whatever the festival week calls for.

Studio Atelier rents the property May 13–25, using it as a shared home, HQ, and low-key hangout while in town for the festival.

The property is split between two connected structures. The ivy-wrapped main house, a smaller residence off the courtyard, serves as Creative Director Stacy Strange’s personal quarters. Inside, a spacious bedroom, private bath, kitchenette, and cozy living area offer just enough calm between the week’s high-saturation moments. It’s where early mornings begin and post-event decompression happens, intentionally low-key but thoughtfully styled.

The larger adjacent guest house holds the rhythm of the team. Three bedrooms upstairs and a full guest suite downstairs make space for the core crew—Monroe, Johan, Alessandra—and a rotating list of fittings, VIPs, and last-minute meetings. The main dining room has been converted into a functioning atelier, where racks line the walls and notes are scribbled across tabletops. In contrast, the open-plan living room is left untouched: a communal space where someone’s always editing a schedule, repinning a hem, or playing something soft over the speaker.

At the heart of the villa, the shared courtyard offers warmth and movement. Bougainvillea drapes along the walls while citrus trees line the edge of the gravel patio. A white sectional wraps a stone fire pit, often surrounded by open steamer cases, garment bags, and casually draped fabric. It’s a functional sprawl—a backdrop for wine, reflection, or a quick break between calls.

Villa Spaccata is not precious, nor is it trying to be. It’s comfortable and creative, built for flow rather than formality. In the quiet moments before premieres or the laughter after a long fitting.

This isn’t just where the work gets done. It’s where the work breathes.
