Studio Atelier Formalizes Creative Partnerships With Longtime Muses
By Myra Lane for Business of Fashion
For the first time since its founding, Studio Atelier is formalizing what has already been years in the making. The studio, known for its emotionally driven design language and narrative depth, has announced the launch of ongoing creative partnerships with four longtime collaborators: recording artist Recea Marin, actor Ara Myembi, entertainment lawyer and media personality Zuri Jones, and writer and director Cecilia Lewis.
Each of these women has been connected to the brand in different ways over the past several years through red carpet moments, performance looks, visual campaigns and private commissions. Now, Studio Atelier confirms these partnerships as official extensions of the brand's design vision, signaling a deeper shift in how it brings its storytelling to life.
“This isn’t about campaigns,” Stacy Strange, founder and designer of Studio Atelier, tells me. “It’s about alignment. These women aren’t just faces or muses. They’re part of the fabric of the studio. This is about building something with them, not just for them.”
The collaborations begin immediately and will be integrated into upcoming press moments, appearances and special projects across fashion, film and music. While details remain under wraps, Studio Atelier emphasizes that the work will unfold naturally, in rhythm with each partner’s real-world presence.
“It feels right. We’ve been doing this already. Now we’re just letting the public in.”
Cecilia Lewis, whose recent work as a writer and director has made her a mainstay in cultural conversation, sees the move as a continuation of something deeply rooted. “Studio Atelier has always been about intimacy,” she says. “It’s never felt transactional. It feels like family, but with structure. With vision. I’m proud to be part of something that doesn’t just dress you. It listens to you.”
When I ask Strange what made now the right moment to make it official, he pauses before answering.
“We’ve been building the foundation. Now it’s time to show how everything we’ve been shaping starts living in the world.”
